Based in Killara with a sister operation on the Central Coast, Dukes take great pride in providing exceptional, innovative and durable solutions for clients in Sydney, Central Coast and the greater NSW region.
1958
Dukes’ original operation began under the guidance of Henk and his wife Jeanette and was known by the name Henk J Dukino Painters and Decorators.
1994
Henk and Jeanette successfully operated the business for 36 years, before ‘passing on the reins’ to their son Peter, which he later re-branded Dukes Painting Services.
2019
Now more commonly known as ‘Dukes’ the business is a well-respected stalwart in the painting industry and delivered many notable projects.
Dukes have delivered many notable projects, such as the full internal refurbishment of the Sydney Town Hall including the clock face, the Glebe Island Silos, Sailors Home, ASNCo Building and many more.

Peter Dukino
Be Civil (Hons) Managing Director
With a genuine passion for painting, in-depth technical knowledge and civil engineering training Dukes have gone from strength to strength under Peter’s leadership.
His professional qualifications combined with 25 years industry experience enables Peter to continue to deliver effective solutions for the complex challenges of our major projects.
As a former President of the Master Painters Association (NSW), Peter has been formally recognised for his significant 17 year contribution to the Association.
Highly regarded by his team, Peter continues to set the bar high, challenging each and every member to deliver service excellence.
Paul Williams
GENERAL MANAGER
With over 20 years experience in the painting industry, Paul brings with him extensive project management experience and first-class technical knowledge, which he has learned from the ground up.
Paul is responsible for providing hands-on leadership across the business to both our sales and operational teams, as well as providing a high-level visibility to key clients.
Well known for his honesty, transparency and ethical approach in business, Paul continues to build upon the excellent reputation Dukes has in the marketplace.
Paul (Leo) Leonardo
PROJECT MANAGER
With over 13 years experience within the construction industry, spanning both the building and painting sectors. Leo’s methodical approach enables him to deliver a high standard of service to all of his painting and remedial project clients.
Working closely with his clients, industry professionals and project delivery teams Leo manages all aspects of coordination, scheduling and project implementation to deliver a successful outcome and beyond.
Ian Barry
PROJECT MANAGER
Initially joining Dukes as a painter in 2011, Ian was fast promoted to Senior Foreman for his project management expertise and excellent technical knowledge.
Ian has managed some of Dukes’ most notable and technically complex projects including works at St Kevins Church, Ascot Apartments and remedial works for 1 Oxford Street to name a few.
With his trade background and proven delivery track record, Ian has been tasked with delivery of one Dukes’ largest projects to date at Little Bay.
Scott Lawlor
PROJECT MANAGER
Scott brings with him a wealth of industry knowledge, having served an apprenticeship and gaining his qualifications in both Painting & Decorating and Surface Preparation.
After completing his training, Scott joined Sydney Ferries as a Senior Foreman where he was responsible for the day-to-day management of 32 vessels, coordinating multiple trades and floating staff.
With great attention to deal, technical knowledge and the ability to project manage multiple projects simultaneously Scott is enjoying utilising his vast skill set in his current role.
Lauren Dukino
OPERATIONS coordinator
Lauren began her career with Dukes, working across key positions within the business over the last five years.
During this time, Lauren has gained a solid understanding of the operational, administrative and financial aspects of the business.
Lauren plays a pivotal role in our business driving initiatives within the project delivery and administrative teams to deliver organisational excellence.
George Milligan
ESTIMATOR
George’s career in painting has spanned over a decade. George undertook his painting apprenticeship in New Zealand in Painting and Decorating and he has worked in all areas of painting since qualifying, including residential, commercial and industrial.
George joined Dukes initially as a Painter, promoted through to Foreman and tasked with managing Dukes’ high-end residential projects.
More recently George has taken on the key role of Estimator for our small and medium sized painting and remedial projects.
Dukes Protective Coatings - Wyong
Jon Howieson
MANAGING DIRECTOR
Jon Howieson heads up the Dukes Protective Coatings team on the Central Coast and he has over 22 years of experience in all aspects of the painting trade.
Jon commenced his career with Dukes as a young Apprentice, later undertaking specialist training in both rope access, scaffolding and protective coatings.
Jon has achieved the international qualification to become a NACE qualified Coating Inspector.
Mathew Bonsing
Project Manager
Mathew began his career with Dukes Protective Coatings, having qualified following his intensive Dukes apprenticeship.
Now, with 7 years solid experience, Mathew has been tasked with project managing complex painting and protective coating works for the Central Coast.
Mathew has also qualified with NACE as a Level 1 Coatings Inspector.
Scott Howison
Project Manager
With over 20 years of experience as a qualified painter, Scott has an in-depth knowledge of our sector and can provide solutions for even the most complex project.
Well respected by our customers and the Dukes, Scott prides himself on going beyond the customers’ expectations.
Brooke Howieson
Office Manager
Brooke has been a part of the Dukes company in various aspects since 2012, taking on the role of Dukes Protective Coatings Office Manager in 2017.
Brooke has a strong background in customer service, contracts administration in the construction industry, and office management.
